Locost V6 Pictures
This Locost was built using a book built chassis and panels made to book dimensions all made by us in our workshop, there had to be some slight alterations to chassis to fit starter motor and bell housing for the Capri 2.8 engine and box.The rear axle is the 2.8I LSD item which is 4" wider than the Escort axle hence needed the wider rear mudguards.Front suspension is standard book with Cortina uprights, discs and calipers with green stuff pads, it is fitted with a Vauxhall steering colum Ford rack and Momo steering wheel, there is a Metro pedal box modified to floor mount with Metro servo fitted horizontaly with a fluid container mounted on bulkhead, although the car is a little heavier than the Ford Zetec engined car we have it is a really nice car to drive being effortless with the power to wieght ratio, brakes are perfect needs no bias valve as was checked on rollers before testing.Car is fitted with modified Yamaha silencers with fabricated manifolds and Escort quick rack.
Locost Zetec pictures This car is as above apart from 1.6 Ford Zetec and type 9 gearbox, all engine management from original SI Escort, K&N induction filter, MK1 Escort van rear axle, pendulum pedal box from Metro with shortened pedals, Fiat Panda master cylinder no servo and green stuff pads. Has a lamda sensor but no cat, fitted with a metro handbake allthough isnt really ideal as is a bit heavy to pull, car is quite quick as wieghs a lot less than the V6 car, there is a Suzuki can with fabricated 4 branch manifold Will visit and give advice on any build problems or with help with welding painting etc for expenses and a reasonable hourly rate also, mail for costing for visits or phone for advice we will help if at all possible Please mail for any info or estimates
