Locost CVH car restoration pictures This locost was purchased by its present owner in an unfinished condition, although being built very well, it is a standard book car by the look of it except 1.4 cvh Ford engine and 4 speed ford cortina gearbox, the present owner drove the car once then parked in yard for around 2 years without touching it then lost storage space in yard so has decided to finish it and refurb it with a bit better looking finish.The car appears to be fitted with a mk3 escort steering column and switches which fit very nicely, it has the pedal box and servo off the same car, engine is fitted with the XR2/3 webber carb, Kent cam, 4 branch manifold and sounds quite lively, here are a few pictures of the progress so far. This is how car looked after a quick wipe over Paint doesnt look too bad although painted in celoluose.     Now buffed original paint  Buffed paint and painted dark green stripe and rollover bars as the original yellow looked a bit drab being all same colour, have also removed mudgaurds to paint in the same dark green, looks a lot better already the owner thinks Wings painted and refitted wings painted green & refitted, exhaust painted black in heat resistant paint, heat shield painted in aluminium paint & laquered flyscreen fitted same as our V6 car I have some of these screens for sale if interested please get in touch, stone guards fitted on rear mudguards also covered dashboard in dark green   Will visit and give advice on any build problems or with help with welding painting etc for expenses and a reasonable hourly rate also, mail for costing for visits or phone for advice we will help if at all possible   Please mail for any info or estimates geoff@kitcarland.co.uk
