Citroen H type van

restoration and mobile shop conversion

Van arrived still on french plates

Citroen H type van now being restored also side canopy conversion, the van is basicly quite sound for the age of it.There is some welding work to do underneath to chassis and floor but not major, will be a lot of surface rust to remove before paintwork can start. Will be fitting a s/h right hand door as original is badly damaged also the rear is accident damaged pushing rear wheel arch out will need pulling back to open arch back up.the side is going to be removed to form a sales counter and canopy

Damaged rear right hand side to pull back to pre accident seems solid enough so should come ok

Side panel removed ready to fabricate canopy, center supports to be removed first

Some of restoration work done now chassis repaired and rear damage pulled out

The underside is really good now but does need a lot of underseal and waxoyl spraying around if it is going to last as it is all bare metal no paint on at all just a lot of surace rust

Getting A little further with the side strengthening to allow damage to be repaired and canopy fitted

Steel for canopy etc

Side is now ready for the canopy/side fitting into place

 strengthening strengthening

There is a little rot to cut out and repair before the side is hinged onto the vehicle

some rot small patch and welding

Side is now ready to to take the canopy which will be fitted with a full length piano hinge made from stainless steel

It fits From inside

Just two strengtheners to fix running down panel to stop flexing then catches and stays to hold shut and open to form the canopy
